April All Natural Day 18
Well today didn’t quite go as planned… I woke up with an awful stomach ache and spent most of the morning on the couch. I did however, have some lemon and ginger “tea,” which was just water boiled with a knob of ginger and some lemon juice, then I added about a tablespoon or so of coconut nectar to sweeten it. It helped with the nausea, but not so much with the overall blah feeling. Plus, it tasted a lot better than I had anticipated, which was definitely a bonus.
About an hour after that I just had 2 pieces of toast with a bit of fruit sweetened strawberry jam for breakfast because I couldn’t really stomach too much. While my parents spent the day outside working in the yard, I tossed the tennis ball for Rory until he just couldn’t run anymore, then spent some more time laying down :/. When everyone came in for lunch, I made myself a super simple bowl of oatmeal with a sliced banana. I was starving, but didn’t actually want to eat anything. I did eventually go for a run, so the running streak lives on – today marks day 85! Since I hadn’t eaten much earlier, I decided to have a smoothie when I got home, which was strawberry peach. I used the same recipe as my strawberry milkshake, but subbed one cup of peaches for one cup of strawberries. It’s one of my favorite flavors.
I topped it all off with hemp seeds and enjoyed it in the sun with Rory.
Luckily, dinner was super simple- I made the Curried Peanut Bowls with Tofu and Kale from Isa Does It. I really liked this one, but I would add more water to the sauce next time, it was a tad bit too thick to really spread throughout the bowl. I would also probably double the amount of kale, but that’s just because I usually get more kale than anything else in my bowl with this kind of dish.
Not the most photogenic meal, but delicious nonetheless. I give it two thumbs up!
My stomach is now feeling a teeny bit better and hopefully will be back to normal in the morning!
