Hi, I’m Hunter! I remember a time when I was little when I told my mom I wanted to be a hippie when I grew up. I suppose you could say I’m starting to live that dream. Hippie Chick Vegan Foods, previously known as Peanut Butter and Vegan, is the result of my love and passion for cooking, animals, and many things in between.

I have a B.S. in biology, but my true passion is in cooking and baking, the environment, and human rights. Oh and I’m a huge nerd when it comes to the science of cooking and baking. Any chance I get I am cooking up a storm in the kitchen and experimenting with new ideas. I am completely self-taught when it comes to baking and cooking, but I worked as a pastry chef and manager of an all-vegan bakery for 3 years, where I refined my baking skills even more.

I have recipe tested for vegan cookbooks, The Abundance Diet by Somer McCowan, Vegan Yack Attack On the Go by Jackie Sobon, and Vegan Yack Attack’s Guide to Plant-Based Meal Prep by Jackie Sobon. My dream is to create and develop new recipes that are easy, delicious, accessible, and of course vegan in hopes to show everyone that veganism can be just as full of flavor without all the fancy and expensive ingredients. My ultimate goal is to one day own my own little vegan cafe, and this blog is all about my adventures in making that dream come true. Here, you’ll find a mix of adventures, recipes, and even just some thoughts. Hope you stick around and follow along on my adventure!
